About Laura

​

LR Respiratory Training & Consultancy was established in 2016 by Laura Rush, an experienced Respiratory Nurse Specialist and Educator with over 16 years’ experience across clinical practice, education and respiratory service development.

​

Driven by a passion for respiratory care and a commitment to sharing knowledge, Laura established LR Respiratory to support healthcare professionals in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to deliver high-quality respiratory care. The business became a limited company in March 2023 and now delivers respiratory education, training and consultancy nationally, working with ICBs, PCNs, Training Hubs and other healthcare organisations across the UK.

Alongside her education and consultancy work, Laura continues to practise clinically in primary care. Having previously led respiratory care within her practice for seven years, she brings extensive experience of respiratory service development and continues to support respiratory care within her local PCN. Her combination of current clinical practice and education ensures that her training is practical, evidence-based and grounded in the realities of primary care.

Laura is also actively involved in respiratory pathway development, quality improvement and supporting the development of clinical services, including recently leading the development of a children and young people’s asthma pathway in Somerset.

​

Through LR Respiratory Training & Consultancy Ltd, Laura provides bespoke respiratory education, clinical mentorship, consultancy and service development support. Her work helps healthcare professionals and clinical teams translate current guidance and best practice into practical, high-quality care. From foundational learning through to advanced clinical education, her programmes are designed to build confidence, strengthen clinical skills and support improvements in patient outcomes.

Laura sits on the Primary Care Respiratory Society (PCRS) Education Committee and has previously contributed to the Association of Respiratory Nurses (ARNS) Education & Research Subcommittee. She remains actively involved in national respiratory education and professional development.

​

Laura is passionate about inspiring healthcare professionals to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence in respiratory care, helping to ensure that people living with respiratory disease receive high-quality, evidence-based care.
